Established in 2001 with the creation of the Area of Signal Theory and Communications at the Department of Electrical Engineering in the frame of the implementation of the Telecommunication Engineering degree at the University of Oviedo.
In 2010 it was officially recognized as a Research Group at the University of Oviedo after evaluation by the ANECA. The research and teaching are in the frame of the Telecommunication Engineering, in particular in the field of knowledge of Signal Theory and Communications: electromagnetic theory and applied electromagnetics (direct and inverse problems of radiation, propagation and scattering), theory and signal processing, systems, subsystems and circuits for wireless communications (in microwave, millimeterwave, submillimeter and THz frequency bands, as well as in optical bands).
